An Abalone is a type of marine snail.

• The Horn Shark feeds on sea urchins, crabs, abalone, and other fish.

• Abalone can be found in many colors, shapes and sizes. There are about 100 different species of abalone!

• They can be found in rocky areas that are always underwater.

• Abalone like to eat algae and kelp.

• They have a rough outer shell and a silky smooth inside. Mother of pearl comes from the inside of their shells, which is used for jewelry.

• Abalone is a valued food source for humans.

• Black and White Abalone are protected in the United States under the Endangered Species Act.
