The Great Blue Heron is the largest North American heron. They weigh 5-8 pounds (2.3-3.6 kgs), are 36-54 inches (0.9- 1.4 m) long from head to tail, and has a wingspan of 71 inches (1.8 m).
The Great Blue Heron is a wading bird in the heron family.
