Types of Penguins: Adelie Penguin, African Penguin, Chinstrap Penguin, Emperor Penguin, Erect-Crested Penguin, Fiordland Penguin, Galapagos Penguin, Gentoo Penguin, Humboldt Penguin, King Penguin, Little or Blue Penguin, Macaroni Penguin, Magellanic Penguin, Rockhopper Penguin, Royal Penguin, Snares Penguin and the Yellow-Eyed Penguin.

The Gentoo Penguin is easily recognized by the wide white stripe extending across the top of his head.

• The Gentoo Penguin is the third largest penguin after the Emperor Penguin and the King Penguin. They average 30-36 inches (76-91 cm) tall.

• The Gentoo Penguin is the fastest underwater swimming penguin.

• The Gentoo Penguin parents share incubation, changing duty daily. The female usually lays 2 eggs.

• The Gentoo Penguin eats mainly krill but will also eat fish

• The Gentoo Penguin needs to watch out for Sea Lions, Leopard Seals, and Orcas. These are the Gentoo's predators.
